Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Cherry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Messersmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cherry might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Let me ride that donkey!. Messersmith has chosen Dance With The Devil as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cherry misses with a wild body shot.

Cherry misses with a hook. Messersmith ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cherry throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cherry just misses with a punch to the body.
Messersmith moves out of range as Cherry strikes.
Don Cherry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cherry throws the left hand but Messersmith avoids the punch easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cherry misses with an uppercut.
Cherry throws a shot from downtown. Messersmith moves away and avoids it.

Cherry looks to land a right hand but Messersmith moved out of range.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cherry loads up on a big right hand but Messersmith slips the punch.

Cherry is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Cherry's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Messersmith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Messersmith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cherry.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Messersmith blocks a jab.
Cherry throws a hook to the side of Messersmith's head but Messersmith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Messersmith slips under a jab from Cherry.
Cherry misses with a looping right.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cherry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Messersmith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Messersmith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cherry throws out the jab.

Messersmith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cherry throws an overhand right that lands on Messersmith's shoulder, as Messersmith tries to avoid the shot.

Messersmith slips under a jab.
Cherry throws out a loose jab but Messersmith uses good head movement to avoid it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cherry lands a body shot.
Cherry clinches up with Messersmith and pushes him back against the cage.
Cherry is pressed up against the cage. Messersmith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cherry down to the mat. Cherry avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Cherry looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No joy there for Cherry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cherry lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Messersmith falls backwards - clearly groggy! Cherry dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Cherry!
