The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDowell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Markakis is looking for a sweep. McDowell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDowell seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Markakis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDowell is working away from the top position though.
Markakis looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Markakis moves into full guard.
McDowell is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Markakis has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McDowell is looking to defend but Markakis has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McDowell! Markakis pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McDowell taps out and this one is all over!

Nick Markakis really struggled to get his t-shirt was on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Kobra Clothing Inc. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
