Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clay Toddie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Algenir Aguiar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clay Toddie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Algenir Aguiar! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguiar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Toddie.
Aguiar misses with a body shot.
Aguiar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Toddie did well to prevent Aguiar getting side control. Toddie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Toddie. Toddie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aguiar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Aguiar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Toddie keeping moving, preventing Aguiar from controlling successfully. Aguiar is looking to work some ground and pound but Toddie has wrist control.

Aguiar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Aguiar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Toddie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Aguiar is in Toddie's guard. Aguiar looking to sit in guard and control but Toddie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Aguiar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Toddie is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aguiar has Toddie pulled in close to control his posture. Toddie is looking to stand up but Aguiar won't let him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aguiar pushes Toddie off and gets back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Toddie. No joy for Aguiar on that attempt. A slapping leg kick lands for Toddie.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Toddie misses with a two punch combination.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Algenir Aguiar. Aguiar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Toddie swivels and escapes. Clay Toddie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Algenir Aguiar. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aguiar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Aguiar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Toddie sprawls well initially but Aguiar persists and gets the takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Algenir Aguiar dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aguiar not landing any meaningful shots this time. Aguiar controlling the action here. Aguiar scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, if Aguiar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Algenir Aguiar has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Algenir Aguiar was stalling too much, according to the referee. Aguiar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Toddie's waist but Toddie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aguiar off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Algenir Aguiar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Aguiar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Aguiar prevents Toddie from getting back to his feet. Aguiar lands a couple of elbows. Aguiar landing some decent shots from guard. Aguiar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Aguiar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Aguiar scoring with some ground and pound. Aguiar lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Aguiar lands a couple of decent looking shots. Aguiar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Aguiar controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Toddie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Aguiar. Aguiar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Aguiar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Let's hope that Aguiar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Clay Toddie wasn't doing enough on the ground. Aguiar gets the takedown into side control. Toddie seems a little lost for a moment, as Aguiar dominates the positioning. Aguiar cracks Toddie with a big right hand but Toddie just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Aguiar throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Aguiar working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aguiar lands an elbow. Toddie is trying to escape the position but Aguiar is controlling the position. Aguiar creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Aguiar throws a strike aimed at the side of Toddie's head but Toddie avoids it well. Aguiar lands a nice forearm strike. Aguiar has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Aguiar is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Toddie will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that's the end of the fight! Algenir Aguiar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Aguiar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
