The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saenz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rodrigues shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rodrigues showed some decent athleticism there.
Rodrigues has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rodrigues wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Rodrigues prevents Saenz from getting the reversal.
Saenz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Saenz tries to get out of the position.
Rodrigues working for a guillotine from mount but Saenz is in no mood to give up.
Rodrigues is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Saenz is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Saenz flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Rodrigues anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Saenz and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Rodrigues slips an arm under Saenz chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Rodrigues has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Rodrigues is squeezing on Saenz like an anaconda would it's prey. Saenz fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
