Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Filippo Di Vaio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Train (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Train!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Train fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Di Vaio sprawls well initially but Train persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Train with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Di Vaio is looking to get back to full guard here but Train has managed to pass to side control instead.
Train wants to lay and pray for a moment but Di Vaio keeps working.
Train slows the pace down.

Train decides to stand back up. Train steps back and let's Di Vaio get back to his feet.
Train tries for a takedown but Di Vaio sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Train shoots in but Di Vaio avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Train swats away the attempt to clinch by Di Vaio.

Train tries to clinch but Di Vaio is having none of it.
Train uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Di Vaio.
Train changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Di Vaio tries to avoid it but Train manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Di Vaio to the ground. Di Vaio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Filippo Di Vaio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Train.

Di Vaio throws a lazy right hand but Train sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Di Vaio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Train manages to avoid it.

Train blocks a leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Train.

Di Vaio walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Train checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Rex Train seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Train tries to clinch but Di Vaio is having none of it.
Di Vaio throws a leg kick but Train moved away.

Di Vaio throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Train tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Di Vaio is in Train's guard.
Di Vaio passes Train's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Di Vaio is pressing down on Train's thigh, looking to free his foot. Train is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Train is looking to control Di Vaio's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Train avoid being mounted?
Di Vaio tries to pass the half guard into mount. Train knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Train is concentrating on defense, preventing Di Vaio from advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, if Train is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Train really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Di Vaio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Di Vaio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Train must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Train stands and throws Di Vaio's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Train tries to move into full mount but can't pass Di Vaio's legs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rex Train showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Train drops back looking for a leg! Di Vaio is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Di Vaio manages to kick Train off! Train jumps back into Di Vaio's guard.

Train has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Di Vaio can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Di Vaio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Train is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Di Vaio, into his guard.

Train got a little sloppy there for a moment and Di Vaio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Train has managed to get both his arms back between Di Vaio's legs - danger averted.

Train is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Filippo Di Vaio.
I think Di Vaio has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
