Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Geraldo Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nomi Mae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nomi Mae!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Higgins.
Mae throws a right and a left that Higgins avoids nicely.
Mae throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Higgins.
Mae throws a nice looking combination but Higgins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Higgins is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mae sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mae fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Higgins.

Mae stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Higgins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mae is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Higgins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Higgins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mae gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Higgins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mae can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Higgins is breathing heavily.

Mae avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mae slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Mae trying to control the action but Higgins is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Higgins takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Higgins shoots in looking for a takedown. Mae tries to sprawl out of it but Higgins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mae manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mae goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mae bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Geraldo Higgins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nomi Mae.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Geraldo Higgins will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mae is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mae looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Higgins keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Mae has control of Higgins's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Higgins regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Higgins tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Higgins looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
Higgins tries to lock up and control but Mae gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Nomi Mae comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mae has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
