Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Craig Freese! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Augustus Belmont! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freese misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Belmont.
Freese fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Belmont looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Belmont takes one on the button. Nice shot lands for Freese. Belmont on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Freese. Freese obviously looking to wear him down.
Belmont takes a body punch but keeps moving. Freese misses with a low kick. Freese just misses with a punch to the body.
Freese takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Belmont is looking to land body kicks. Belmont throws a head kick but Freese moves out of range.
Freese connects with an inside leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Freese throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Belmont throws a jab but it's blocked by Freese. Freese takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Freese lands a nice looking body shot.
Freese looks to land a right hand but Belmont moved out of range. Freese is looking to wear down Belmont with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Freese turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Freese is predictable there and Belmont counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Freese is lucky that one didn't land flush. Freese takes a swing at Belmont's ribcage but misses. Freese throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Freese - that will leave a mark!
Belmont looks to throw the jab but Freese is out of range. Freese avoids the body shot from Belmont.
Belmont throws a sloppy head kick and Freese moves out of range easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Freese. Belmont does a little dance to reset his feet. Freese lands with a cross. Freese bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Belmont misses with an uppercut. Freese throws a leg kick that misses. Belmont moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Freese throws a leg kick but Belmont moved away. Freese throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Belmont on the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belmont drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Freese misses with a body shot.
Freese throws a leg kick that is checked and Belmont counters with a nice leg kick. Freese fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Belmont manages to avoid it. A clash of legs there as Belmont blocks the low kick. Belmont scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Freese doesn't seem bothered though. Freese blocks a low kick nicely. A nice leg kick lands there from Belmont. Freese ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Freese lands a jab to Belmont's midsection. Belmont has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Freese finds it's way round the side to connect with Belmont's head. Belmont throws a lazy uppercut
and Freese counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Freese fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Freese misses with a body kick. Craig Freese seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belmont misses with a body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freese comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Belmont looks to land a left hand but Freese moved out of range nicely. Belmont is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Belmont fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Freese checks it well. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Freese checks a leg kick. Belmont throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Freese sees it coming and avoids it easily. Freese takes a swing at Belmont's ribcage but misses. Freese uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Belmont.
Freese buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Belmont looks gassed! That kick from Freese tenderised Belmont's leg. Belmont is trying to keep his angry face on. Freese feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Belmont's calf. Freese is looking to score with low kicks. Freese takes a swing at Belmont's ribcage but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belmont jabbing away but nothing is landing. Belmont takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Belmont looks for the body kick but Freese saw that one coming. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Freese misses with a hook. Belmont ducked under it nicely. Freese connects with a high kick. Freese is looking to slow Belmont down with leg kicks. Freese dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Belmont. That did some damage! Freese misses with a body shot.
Belmont misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Freese throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Belmont. Freese fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Belmont. Belmont takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Belmont is rocked! Freese scores with a sloppy right hand. Belmont should have avoided that one. Belmont is still on wobbly legs! Can Freese finish him? Freese fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Belmont to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Belmont looks to clinch but Freese throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Belmont taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Craig Freese! Craig Freese is the new welterweight champion! Craig Freese decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
