The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Town displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mathews.

Mathews gets the takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mathews wants to lay and pray for a moment but Town keeps working.
Mathews in side control lands a decent elbow.
Mathews trying to control the position but Town is working away.
Mathews working the head and body with strikes.
Mathews has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Town tries to buck Mathews off but Mathews is having none of it.
Town can't do much from the bottom here.

It looks like Mathews might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Town knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mathews on the ground.
Mathews looks up at the clock and then as Town takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mathews smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mathews lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Town down.
Mathews is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Town's shoulder. That is not cool.
Mathews looks up at the clock and then as Town takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mathews smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Town is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mathews connects with a decent elbow.
Oh Town is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big shot lands for Mathews! That's hurt Town! Will he recover? Mathews fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
