Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffery Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Tenaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tenaja has chosen next train out as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tenaja sizes up Shannon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Shannon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tenaja shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shannon but Shannon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tenaja.
Tenaja fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jeffery Shannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Earl Tenaja.
Tenaja throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shannon's waist but Shannon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tenaja off to one side.
Shannon scores with a push kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shannon.

Shannon pushes down on Tenaja's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Tenaja wants to control the action here but instead Shannon manages to pass to full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shannon looking for a guillotine from mount but Tenaja is having none of it.
Shannon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Shannon working for a submission but Tenaja is keeping him at bay.

Shannon avoids the attempt from Tenaja to control.
Shannon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Shannon looking to control but Tenaja is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shannon looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Tenaja tries to lock up and control but Shannon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Shannon working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Shannon tries to control but Tenaja wriggling away.
Tenaja really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tenaja is wriggling around trying to escape.

You get the feeling that Tenaja really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Shannon wants to control the pace but Tenaja is squirming around nicely.
Shannon is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Shannon extends the arm and Tenaja is forced to tap!
