Alighieri's entrance music is Machine Gun by Jimi Hendrix. A fine choice. Bak is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: you've lost that loving feeling. Tristan Alighieri could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ong Bak's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bak tries to clinch but Alighieri is having none of it.

Bak is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Alighieri shoots in and bounces Bak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Alighieri postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ong Bak hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Alighieri swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bak is now in Alighieri's guard. A big mistake from Alighieri there, giving up the dominant position!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bak seems to have recovered his senses.
