Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Huffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donnie Huffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Williams!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams closes the distance and clinches.
Williams working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Williams lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Donnie Huffman has been cut.
Huffman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Huffman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Huffman throws a combination that misses
and Williams counters with a head kick. That will keep Huffman thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

John Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Huffman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Williams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Huffman pinned against the cage. Huffman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Williams gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Williams doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
With the fighters up against the cage, Huffman throws an elbow but misses.
Huffman tries to pull guard but Williams forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Huffman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams has a couple of punches blocked by Huffman.
Williams wants to break the clinch but can't.

Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Williams fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Huffman to the ground. Williams is now in Huffman's guard.
Huffman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Huffman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Williams stands up and beckons Huffman to join him on the feet.

Williams moves into the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Huffman jumps guard but Williams stands there with Huffman around his waist. Huffman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Huffman gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Williams manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Williams moves into range and clinches up with Huffman.
Huffman blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Williams is trying to break the clinch but Huffman has him pressed against the cage.

Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Huffman has managed to clinch.
Huffman looking to slow down the pace here.
Williams throws an elbow but it misses.
Huffman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Huffman tries to land a knee to the head but Williams blocks with his arms.

Williams is trying to force a seperation but Huffman has the dominant position.

Williams pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Huffman blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Williams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Williams darts in and clinches Huffman up against the cage.
Williams pushes off an throws an elbow but Huffman leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Williams throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Huffman prevents Williams from breaking the clinch.
Huffman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huffman shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Huffman has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Huffman wants to stand and escape but instead Williams has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Huffman wants to get back to his feet but Williams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Williams decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Huffman, up you get!

Williams creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Huffman's defenses.

Williams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Williams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

John Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Huffman has clasped his hands together around Williams's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Huffman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground.
Huffman tries to advance to mount but Williams denies him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Williams pushes Huffman off but Huffman dives into side control.
Williams wants to get back to his feet.
Huffman is looking to take a break and control but Williams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Williams pushes Huffman off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Huffman tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Huffman to the ground. Huffman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Donnie Huffman.
Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
