Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Broken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abbas Makhmalbaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Ron Broken has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Abbas Makhmalbaf!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Makhmalbaf shoots in and bounces Broken off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Broken wants to stand and escape but Makhmalbaf is having none of it.
Makhmalbaf postures up in Broken's guard and throws a big left but Broken blocks it.
Makhmalbaf showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Makhmalbaf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Broken swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Makhmalbaf is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Makhmalbaf throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Broken works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Makhmalbaf drops back, looking for a kneebar! Broken looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Broken looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Broken!
Broken wants to stand but Makhmalbaf has his arm trapped.

Makhmalbaf tries to get back to half guard but can't.
What's Makhmalbaf going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Makhmalbaf has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Makhmalbaf pushing down on Broken's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Makhmalbaf is taking a breather. Broken says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Makhmalbaf working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Makhmalbaf connects with a nice short shot to Broken's temple.

Broken dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Makhmalbaf. That did some damage!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Makhmalbaf fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Broken avoids it really well and circles away.
Broken lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Makhmalbaf misses with a takedown attempt - Broken sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Makhmalbaf closes this distance looking for a takedown but Broken circles away.
Ron Broken has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abbas Makhmalbaf.

Broken fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Good leg kick by Broken there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The crowd cheers as Broken lands an impressive looking overhand right. Makhmalbaf doesn't seem phased though.

Broken fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Makhmalbaf looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A head kick from Broken lands but Makhmalbaf takes it in his stride.

Broken takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Makhmalbaf's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Broken connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Makhmalbaf scrambles back to his feet.
