Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Corvia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Mironov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corvia kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Al Kapone - You ain't stoppin me. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sean Corvia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Dmitri Mironov! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corvia is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mironov's half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Corvia is working for a submission of some sort.
Corvia wants to work for an arm triangle but Mironov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Corvia thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mironov trying to hold on to Corvia's head to control him but Corvia postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mironov is trying to get back to full guard. Corvia thows a huge punch but Mironov dodges it nicely.

Corvia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mironov is just riding it out for now. Corvia eventually gives up the hold. Corvia missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mironov is looking for a sweep. Corvia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corvia closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mironov's guard. Mironov is trying to control the position but Corvia postures up. Corvia drops back looking for a leg! Mironov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mironov manages to kick Corvia off! Corvia jumps back into Mironov's guard. Mironov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corvia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mironov tries to free his leg and advance position but Corvia is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mironov throws and elbow that misses. Corvia uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mironov's guard. Nice move by Corvia! Corvia throwing strikes but missing. Corvia trying to control but Mironov is working from the bottom. Corvia throws a big right hand that misses. Corvia throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mironov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Corvia throwing strikes but missing. Corvia with a flurry of punches that miss. Sean Corvia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Corvia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Corvia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mironov managing to control the position. Mironov working a defensive guard here.
Corvia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mironov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mironov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mironov! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Corvia dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Mironov with a hook. Mironov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Corvia wants to get back to his feet. Mironov lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Mironov works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Corvia is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mironov has just dragged him back down to the mat. Corvia throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Mironov scores with a three punch combo!

The fighters roll with the hold and Mironov manages to kick Corvia off! Corvia jumps back into Mironov's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Corvia loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mironov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Corvia is looking to work some ground and pound but Mironov has wrist control.

Mironov is looking to reverse the position. Corvia sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mironov is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corvia working away. Dmitri Mironov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mironov tries to bench press Corvia off him but Corvia keeps the position. Corvia is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mironov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sean Corvia. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Corvia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
