Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mike whitby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams's entrance music is Ambitions Az A Ryder. A fine choice. whitby is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by turn my swag on. Leroy Williams has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, mike whitby! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Williams. No joy for whitby on that attempt. Williams tries for a takedown but whitby sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Williams is looking to clinch. whitby closes the distance looking to clinch and Williams counters by clinching up. Williams tries to land a knee to the head but whitby blocks with his arms.

It looks like mike whitby has been cut. whitby wants to get back to striking at distance but Williams won't allow it.

Williams closes the distance but whitby moves to the side and whitby counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Williams's guard now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. whitby is looking to work some ground and pound but Williams has wrist control. Williams is looking for a triangle but whitby pushes his legs off easily.
Williams had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. whitby is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Williams Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take whitby's back instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams avoiding whitby 's attempts to control his hands. whitby is having to fend off submission attempts from Williams, who is looking to sink in the choke. Williams doesn't have the hooks in though and whitby manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. whitby pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now. whitby trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. whitby preventing the sweep. whitby is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. whitby pushing down on Williams's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. whitby wants to pass to mount but Williams is defending the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. whitby won't allow Williams to sweep him here. Williams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but whitby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. whitby stopping the sweep attempt from Williams. whitby slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. whitby scoring with some ground and pound. whitby controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. whitby doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. whitby manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Williams has momentary wrist control but whitby slips an elbow through the middle. Williams has his foot on whitby's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. whitby works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. whitby is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Williams. Williams is looking to regain half guard here but whitby keeps moving and retains side control. Williams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Williams is trying to work for a kimura but whitby is defending well.
