Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Version One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Davis!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Davis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
One slaps away a takedown attempt from Davis, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Davis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by One, who protects the arm well.
Davis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Davis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like John Davis has been cut.
Davis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts One, as that shot connected.
One blocks a head kick by Davis.
Davis tries to clinch up
and One counters with a crisp right hand that drops Davis! One lets Davis back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Davis is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davis gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! One points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Davis wakes up just in time to hear One thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Version One!
