Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abreu lands a nice shot to the body.
Zavalza has a takedown stuffed.
Zavalza is looking to clinch.
Cooper Abreu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zavalza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abreu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zavalza somewhat.
Abreu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Zavalza crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Abreu - the referee stops the clock and Zavalza gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Abreu. Zavalza manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Zavalza closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Abreu did well to prevent Zavalza getting side control.

Zavalza jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Abreu manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Abreu controls Zavalza momentarily but Zavalza frees himself.
Zavalza wants to control from the top but Abreu keeps moving.
Abreu wants to sweep but no luck.
Zavalza stands up out of Abreu's guard for a moment - Abreu manages to land a nice upkick.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Abreu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zavalza manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zavalza has momentary wrist control but Abreu slips an elbow through the middle.

Zavalza wants to control the position but Abreu says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Abreu takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Abreu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Zavalza is looking to improve his position.
Zavalza is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Abreu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Abreu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Abreu lands strikes from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abreu scores with a couple of good hammerfists.


Zavalza is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Zavalza should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Zavalza tries to roll over but Abreu keeps him under control.
Zavalza is staying active underneath Abreu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Abreu uses his free foot to push down on Zavalza's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zavalza.

Abreu is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Zavalza goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Abreu!
