Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DuShayne Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neil McKenzie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, DuShayne Walters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Neil McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie tries for a takedown but Walters sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Walters drives through with a takedown into McKenzie's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Walters got a little sloppy there for a moment and McKenzie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walters has managed to get both his arms back between McKenzie's legs - danger averted.

McKenzie wants to sweep here but Walters controlling him for the moment.
Walters is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

McKenzie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walters defends it easily.

Walters's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walters drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walters jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McKenzie has his foot on Walters's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walters works his way back into a safe position though.

Walters postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walters's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McKenzie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Walters connects with a couple of short punches.

Walters postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

McKenzie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walters gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

McKenzie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walters lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DuShayne Walters dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McKenzie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McKenzie somewhat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Walters.
Walters looks up at the clock and then as McKenzie takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Walters smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
McKenzie is looking to reverse the position.

Walters is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McKenzie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Walters gets to mount! McKenzie was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Walters lands a heavy elbow.
Walters lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McKenzie is in all sorts of trouble here.

McKenzie is in a horrible position here. Walters smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Walters is going oldschool here, as he tries to force McKenzie to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so McKenzie shrugs it off.

DuShayne Walters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McKenzie is still in real trouble! Can Walters finish him?
Walters is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McKenzie can do to turn this around?

McKenzie is breathing heavily.
Walters takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Post fight, DuShayne Walters stared into the camera and said 'Any man stupid enough to step in the cage with me is gunna regret it the moment I put my fist in his face. I won't stop beating on this fool till the ref pulls me off. I'm out to hurt this bitch, he deserves it for even thinking he could beat me. Ain't nobody gunna recognise this bitch arse punk '.
