PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nikolai Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chin Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Po has chosen TURBO as his entrance music. Po has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chin Po!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Volkov cracks Po with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Po tries to clinch up.
Po moves in looking to clinch but Volkov pushes him off.
Good work by Po as he checks the leg kick.

Po has momentary wrist control but Volkov slips an elbow through the middle.
Po is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Volkov is controlling him.
Po really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Volkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Volkov works over Po with some ground and pound from guard.
Volkov stands up over Po, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Volkov pushes down on Po's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Volkov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Po is looking to get back to is feet but Volkov passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nikolai Volkov tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
