Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gary Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darryl Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darryl Ray has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gary Lee's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darryl Ray!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lee, right into the meat.

Lee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ray to the mat! Ray manages to get full guard.

Ray manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Lee pushes Ray up against the cage in a clinch.
Ray tries to break the clinch but Lee is controlling the position.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ray misses with a two punch combination.
Lee throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ray counters with a nice leg kick.
Lee slips a jab and a cross from Ray.
Some bone on bone action there as Lee checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lee throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lee works over Ray's head and body with a nice combination.
Lee misses with a double jab.
Lee dodges the punch combination from Ray.
Ray throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lee counters by clinching up.
Lee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ray smiles and moves away.

Lee closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ray gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lee.
Ray is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lee digs a right hand underneath Ray's ribcage. Ray let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ray shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ray looks gassed!
Lee fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gary Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee throws a series of punches but Ray avoids them all with ease.
Lee swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ray counters with a stiff right hand.
Lee throws a right hand that Ray ducks under and follows up with a left that Ray also avoids with ease.
Lee misses with a combination
and Ray counters with a straight right hand.

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ray is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Ray gets back to half guard.
Ray wants to get back to his feet.
Ray is in trouble now - Lee has advanced to mount!
Lee prevents Ray from getting the reversal.

Ray tries to buck Lee off but he can't manage it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee is landing with some decent strikes but Ray is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Ray is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Ray working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ray bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Ray gets to his feet - Lee follows without any prompting.
Lee throws a series of punches but Ray avoids them all with ease.

Ray gets caught flat footed, as Lee shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Lee advances to half guard.
Ray wants to get back to his feet.
Ray is not content to let Lee control the position.
Ray is trying to stand back up but Lee is controlling him

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee is looking to take a break and control but Ray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ray is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ray is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold.
Ray is trying to stand up here but Lee is controlling him well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ray swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lee clinches with his opponent.
Ray has had enough of the clinch but Lee keeps him there for the moment.
Lee keeps control of Ray as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lee can't get the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gary Lee will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Ray loads up on a big right hand but Lee slips the punch.
Lee falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ray counters with a leg kick.
Lee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ray.

Gary Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lee swinging wilding here.
Ray closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Ray pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ray blocks a head kick by Lee.

Lee looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lee working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Ray tries to kick Lee off in order to stand up. Lee Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Lee scores with punches from side control.
Ray tries to bench press Lee off him but Lee keeps the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ray pushes Lee away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lee gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ray is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Ray sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Ray pushes Lee off looking to stand but Lee dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ray will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lee throws a quick inside leg kick.
A right-left combo lands from Lee.
Lee scores with a three punch combo!
Lee lands a jab-cross combination.
Gary Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ray wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ray misses with a wild combination.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lee shoots in for a takedown but Ray shows good takedown defense.

Ray looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well.
Gary Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darryl Ray.
Lee throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ray makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Lee really felt that one!
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lee throws a nice looking combination but Ray bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ray looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Lee takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ray lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Ray misses with a few strikes there.
Lee swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ray counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Lee falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Darryl Ray!
