Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roland Alicea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Bater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alicea's entrance music is bow down. A fine choice. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alicea wants to clinch.
Alicea looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bater is fending him off so far but Alicea persists. Nope, Bater circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice sprawl there from Bater as Alicea shoots in.
Bater swings for the body but Alicea moves out of range.
Alicea really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bater misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alicea shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bater but Bater pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bater goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Roland Alicea has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Bater. Those never looked like landing.
Bater throws a low kick but it's checked well by Alicea.

Alicea uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bater.
Alicea looks for a takedown but Bater sprawls well.
Bater wants to clinch.

Alicea closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Alicea will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bater wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Bater takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Alicea is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bater doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alicea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bater wants to get back to his feet.

Alicea slips a nice elbow through Bater's hands, connecting with Bater's forehead.

Bater pushes Alicea off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alicea shoots in for a takedown but Bater shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bater misses with a body shot.
Bater connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Alicea tumbling to the canvas! Bater pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Alicea was done - good stoppage!
