Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksandr Valuyskiy! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel digs a good body shot into Valuyskiy's ribs. Steel lands with a good body shot. Steel misses with a series of wild punches.
Steel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Valuyskiy.
Steel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A slapping leg kick lands for Steel.
Valuyskiy looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steel misses with the combination.
Valuyskiy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Steel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Valuyskiy on the side of the head.
It looks like Aleksandr Valuyskiy has been cut. Valuyskiy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Steel to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Valuyskiy keeping moving, preventing Steel from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steel throwing strikes but missing. Steel controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Steel trying to control but Valuyskiy is working from the bottom.
We're going to have a standup here because Chuck Steel wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Steel lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Steel tests Valuyskiy's chin there with a solid looking shot. Chuck Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steel throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Valuyskiy crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Chuck Steel!
