The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Selov misses with a takedown attempt - Sonnen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sonnen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Selov back to the cage. Sonnen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Selov throws a series of punches but Sonnen moves out of range.

Selov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Selov shoots in looking for a takedown. Sonnen tries to sprawl out of it but Selov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sonnen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sonnen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Selov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chael Sonnen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We're going to have a standup here because Chael Sonnen wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sonnen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sonnen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Selov for as long as he can get away with.

Maxim Selov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
