Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trae Thompson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Lawson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Thompson as Lawson shoots in. Thompson gets caught flat footed, as Lawson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Lawson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lawson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thompson is keeping the position for now. Thompson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lawson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lawson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lawson throwing strikes but missing. Thompson has Lawson pulled in close to control his posture. Thompson pushes Lawson off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Thompson shoots in for a double leg but Lawson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lawson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thompson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lawson somewhat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thompson is defended easily by Lawson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trae Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thompson with a poor takedown and Lawson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Lawson has clasped his hands together around Thompson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thompson looking for a sweep but Lawson has passed into full mount! Oh no! Thompson is trying to escape the mount.

Lawson looking to ground and pound but Thompson is blocking nicely. The referee warns Thompson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lawson misses with a head shot. Lawson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lawson looking to finish Thompson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Thompson! Lawson looking to land elbow strikes but Thompson uses the position to regain half guard. Thompson keeping control of the position. Thompson is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Thompson trying to hold on to Lawson's head to control him but Lawson postures up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lawson uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Thompson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Lawson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lawson wants it to stay on the feet. Thompson closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thompson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lawson smiles and moves away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lawson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lawsonis looking to pass into half guard but Thompson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Thompson is in guard. Lawson wants to get back to his feet but Thompson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lawson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thompson misses with a double jab.

That was a close second round but I would say that Trae Thompson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Thompson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lawson walks away with a smile on his face. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Thompson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
