Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Santos Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mauricio Santos Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Voss! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Voss napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Santos Jr sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Voss is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Santos Jr misses with the ground and pound. Santos Jr trying to control the position but Voss is working away. Voss can't do much from the bottom here. Voss is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Santos Jr is controlling him well. Santos Jr cracks Voss with an elbow. That is naaassty. Voss is looking to reverse the position. Voss holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Santos Jr throws a strike aimed at the side of Voss's head but Voss avoids it well. Santos Jr lands an elbow. Santos Jr creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Voss sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Voss is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Santos Jr off and has taken his back! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Voss controlling well, preventing Santos Jr from escaping the position.

Santos Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Santos Jr is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Santos Jr walks into a left hand. Voss bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Santos Jr's head. Voss lands with a nice body punch. Voss lands an overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! Santos Jr has his takedown stuffed and Voss counters with a series of strikes. Santos Jr will be more careful next time no doubt. Voss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Voss misses with a wild body shot. Voss lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Voss has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Voss dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Santos Jr is breathing heavily. Nice uppercut lands for Voss. That snapped Santos Jr's head back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santos Jr with a poor takedown and Voss counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Voss drives through with a takedown into guard. Voss's corner is telling him to maintain position. Voss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Santos Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Santos Jr has his takedown stuffed so Voss counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Voss must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Voss won't allow Santos Jr to get back to his feet. Santos Jr keeping full guard, as Voss tries to pass. Voss controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Voss has control of Santos Jr's left arm, preventing Santos Jr from doing any damage. Voss wants to stand up but Santos Jr is controlling him. Voss is adopting a defensive guard. Voss not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Alex Voss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Santos Jr gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Alex Voss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Santos Jr tries to bench press Voss off him but Voss keeps the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santos Jr is trying to control Voss's posture but Voss avoids it. Mauricio Santos Jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alex Voss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Voss content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Voss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Voss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
