Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thorgrim Rexor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmonray Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malapitan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: My Time is Now. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dmonray Malapitan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malapitan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rexor is trying to stand.
Malapitan seems to be working for a kimura but Rexor defends the submission attempt.
Malapitan stands up out of the half guard.
Rexor leaves Malapitan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Malapitan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rexor moves in looking to clinch but Malapitan pushes him off.
Malapitan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rexor as he jumps to the side.

Malapitan shoots for a double leg takedown but Rexor sprawls well. He's pushed Malapitan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Malapitan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rexor quickly recovers to half guard.
Malapitan works his foot free and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Malapitan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rexor pinned against the cage. Rexor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dmonray Malapitan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Malapitan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rexor's guard.
Malapitan wants to control from the top but Rexor keeps moving.
Rexor is looking to stand up but Malapitan isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dmonray Malapitan.

Malapitan shoots in looking for a takedown. Rexor tries to sprawl out of it but Malapitan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rexor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Malapitan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rexor moves away.
Malapitan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rexor sprawls well. Rexor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Malapitan gets slowly back to his feet.
Malapitan shoots for a takedown but Rexor saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rexor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Malapitan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Malapitan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rexor was covering up waiting for the punch and Malapitan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rexor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Malapitan is controlling him.

Malapitan has gone for a leg lock! Rexor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Malapitan's guard.
Malapitan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rexor's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rexor is working an open guard so Malapitan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Malapitan shoots in but Rexor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Malapitan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rexor's waist but Rexor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malapitan off to one side.
Rexor lands a leg kick that knocks Malapitan off balance momentarily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thorgrim Rexor.
I think Malapitan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
