Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 35 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boston Terrier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, BJ Penn! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Penn has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Terrier is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Penn yanks on the arm and Terrier is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Penn.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). BJ Penn!
