Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Larson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larson slips a jab and a cross from McManus.
McManus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Larson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Larson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McManus.
Larson scores with a three punch combo!
McManus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Larson throws a left and a right that both miss

and McManus counters with a takedown into side control.
Larson tries to buck McManus off but McManus is having none of it.
Larson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Larson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McManus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
McManus blocks the strikes from Larson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Larson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McManus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McManus in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
McManus tries to stand but Larson controls the position and pulls McManus into his guard.

Larson looking for a guillotine here but McManus defends easily.
Larson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Larson has his hands on McManus's head, controlling the position.
McManus trying to control the position from guard on top but Larson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McManus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
McManus is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McManus wants to control from the top but Larson keeps moving.

McManus tries to clinch but Larson is having none of it.

Larson drops down looking for an ankle pick but McManus pulls his leg out and moves away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McManus gets back to full guard.
Larson with a flurry of punches that miss.

McManus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Larson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McManus counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Larson!
Larson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McManus.
Larson manages to control the position for a moment.
Larson regains half guard.
Larson wants to improve his position but McManus is controlling well.
Larson wants to control but McManus is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Larson is on top in guard.

McManus is working an open guard so Larson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Larson counters with a nice double leg into side control. McManus won't be happy with that.
Dean Larson has got the better of the ground game so far.
McManus is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Larson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Larson is just content to waste time from the top position. McManus takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
McManus wants to sweep but no luck.

McManus scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Larson has taken the fight to the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McManus trying to control but Larson is working from the bottom.
Larson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

McManus wants to get up but he can't break Larson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McManus is looking to advance position but Larson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Larson prevents McManus from getting the reversal.
McManus gets back to half guard.
McManus works his way to full guard. Good work.
McManus controls Larson momentarily but Larson frees himself.

Larson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Larson wants to clinch.

Larson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Larson breaks from McManus's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Dean Larson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Larson jumps guard and drags McManus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Larson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McManus!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McManus prevents Larson from getting a body triangle.
Larson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Larson connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for McManus to escape the position.

McManus has hold of Larson's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.

Larson is working for a rear naked choke. McManus is not defending it well and Larson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! McManus refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of McManus's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
