Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kento Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoof Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kento Russo has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kento Russo seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Face throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Face throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Face swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Face throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Russo on the side of the head.

Face moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Russo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kento Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Face looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Russo is fending him off so far but Face persists. Nope, Russo circles away and we're back to standing.

Face gets caught flat footed, as Russo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Russo drops back looking for a leg! Face is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Face manages to kick Russo off! Russo jumps back into Face's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Russo is tying to control. Face wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Face is looking to control Russo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Face avoid being mounted?

Face moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Face is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Face working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Russo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Russo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Face escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Russo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Face manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Russo manages to get himself to full guard.
Russo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Face slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Face has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Russo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close round but Hoof Face will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Russo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Russo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Face paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Russo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Face looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Face shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Russo as he avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Russo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Russo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
