With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Obrien!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obrien fails with the takedown.
Savanis misses with a straight left.

Savanis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Obrien's guard.

Obrien working for a triangle but Savanis defends it easily.

Savanis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Obrien manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Savanis has Obrien in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Savanis kicks Obrien off and gets to his feet.

Obrien fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Savanis manages to avoid it.

Savanis is looking to work some ground and pound but Obrien has wrist control.
Savanis wants to control from the top but Obrien keeps moving.

Savanis breaks from Obrien's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Savanis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Obrien looks a forlorn figure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Savanis in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Savanis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Obrien is in a horrible position here. Savanis smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Savanis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Obrien scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Savanis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Savanis stands and salutes the crowd.
