Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baki Hanma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A combination from Mir does no damage.
Mir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hanma swivels and escapes.

Hanma decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hanma accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hanma wants to control from the top but Mir keeps moving.

Hanma distracts Mir with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mir manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanma is trying to reverse the position but instead Mir has taken his back - oops!

Mir wants to control the position but Hanma frees himself and scrambles - Mir manages to regain control in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mir drops an elbow to the side of Hanma's head.
Hanma is trying to stand up here but Mir is controlling him well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hanma is on top in guard.

Hanma content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mir has locked up a guillotine! Mir's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hanma is holding on here and Mir must be using up a lot of energy. Hanma has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mir gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
