Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ludwig Manres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalle Kala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manres comes into the arena with Aqualung - Jethro Tull blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manres with a poor takedown
and Kala counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Manres takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Kala counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Manres thinking.
Kala ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Manres moves away.
Manres misses with a takedown
and Kala makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ludwig Manres. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kala connects with the punch.
Manres will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Manres takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Manres is breathing heavily.

and Kala counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Kala fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kala fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Manres looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kala is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Manres rather than just go for the knockout.
Kala lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kala connects with a right hand. Manres shakes it off.
Kala moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Manres takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kala lands a right hook to the body.
Manres takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Manres has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kala finds it's way round the side to connect with Manres's head.
Manres shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kala counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Manres is rocked!
Ludwig Manres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
OH! Manres has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Kala smells blood and charges in for the finish! Kala unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Manres sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kalle Kala!
