Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gracie Jitsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Redfield! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redfield throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jitsu counters by moving into the clinch. A right handed body shot lands from Jitsu.
Jitsu presses Redfield against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Jitsu pulls guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jitsu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Redfield rolls with it to try and escape but Jitsu cranks on the arm and Redfield is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gracie Jitsu! During a confident post fight interview, Gracie Jitsu thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
