Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Flash!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flash tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Askren swivels and escapes.

Askren gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Askren lands an elbow that stopped Flash in his tracks for a moment.
Flash tries to pull guard but Askren won't allow it.
Askren gets through Flash's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Flash is trying to drag Askren to the mat but Askren just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Ben Askren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Flash.
Askren lands a body shot in the clinch.
Flash avoids the elbow strike from Askren, against the ropes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Flash is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Askren defends it well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Flash is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

and Flash counters with a nice double leg into side control. Askren won't be happy with that.
