Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesse James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miguel Gracie! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage. James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gracie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Gracie is looking to break free of the clinch but James has double underhooks. James prevents Gracie from breaking the clinch. Gracie effectively controlling the action here. James is looking to break free of the clinch but Gracie has double underhooks. Gracie tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Gracie drops back down to his feet.
Gracie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. James tries to score a body lock takedown but Gracie shows good agility there to stay on his feet. James can't break the clinch.
James tries to work over Gracie's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Gracie is trying to force a seperation but James has the dominant position. James has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. James fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse James. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie is trying to break the clinch but James is controlling him. James creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Gracie wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
James wants to stall.
James is trying to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling him. Gracie jumps into guard, dragging James to the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. James trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. James pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. James has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gracie to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! James is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gracie pulls down on the head and he's put James to sleep! This one is all over!
