Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Matic!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matic gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Matic displaying some good clinch control by pressing Reed up against the cage.

Reed has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Matic uses from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Reed is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Matic defends well.
Matic wants to control from the top but Reed keeps moving.
Matic pushing down on Reed's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Matic is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reed doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Matic.

Matic is looking for a kimura but Reed is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Matic to get the leverage.

Reed throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Matic in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Matic stands and steps away. Reed gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Matic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reed throws a right hand that Matic ducks under and follows up with a left that Matic also avoids with ease.
Reed goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Josh Matic has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reed scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


Matic is rocked!
Matic looks gassed!
Reed drops Matic with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Matic! Reed dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Reed!
