Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conrado Headbenze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ville Paakkari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ville Paakkari will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ville Paakkari! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paakkari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Headbenze paws at him with a jab and circles away. Paakkari should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Headbenze fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Headbenze keeps the fight on the outside. Headbenze drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Headbenze pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Paakkari is keeping the position for now. Headbenze is working hard here to advance position. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Paakkari has eaten all the pies! Paakkari keeping moving, preventing Headbenze from controlling successfully. Headbenze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Headbenze drops back looking for a leg! Paakkari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paakkari manages to kick Headbenze off! Headbenze jumps back into Paakkari's guard. Paakkari wants to stand and escape but Headbenze is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paakkari is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Paakkari looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Headbenze thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Paakkari closes the distance and clinches. Headbenze is trying to break free. Paakkari lands an elbow inside that Headbenze shrugs off. Headbenze is breathing heavily. Paakkari lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Paakkari lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Headbenze wants a takedown.
Headbenze has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Paakkari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conrado Headbenze. That's going to take a lot out of him. Headbenze tries to pull guard but Paakkari won't allow it.
Paakkari lands a nice elbow. Headbenze takes an elbow to the temple. Paakkari breaks from the clinch.
Headbenze shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paakkari pinned against the cage. Paakkari gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Paakkari is looking to clinch but Headbenze is avoiding it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paakkari buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Headbenze closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Paakkari to the mat! Paakkari manages to get full guard. Headbenze trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Headbenze trying to control but Paakkari is working from the bottom. Headbenze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paakkari swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paakkari keeping moving, preventing Headbenze from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Headbenze is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Headbenze tries to clinch but Paakkari is having none of it. The fight stays on the outside here - Paakkari looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Headbenze closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paakkari circles away. Headbenze circles away from the clinch attempt and Headbenze counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Headbenze. Paakkari gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Headbenze looking for a takedown. Headbenze takes an elbow to the forehead. Headbenze wants a takedown but no success here.
Paakkari lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Headbenze drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paakkari pulls his leg out and moves away.
Headbenze scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Headbenze is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Paakkari! Headbenze working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Paakkari turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Headbenze off and cradles Paakkari's limp body as Headbenze celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Conrado Headbenze!
