Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lopez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.
Lopez with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Kenny Smith has been cut.
Smith wants a takedown but no success here.

Lopez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Lopez closes the distance and clinches.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Joe Lopez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Smith.

Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lopez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Smith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lopez gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lopez can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Lopez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Smith stands and throws Lopez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lopez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Smith is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lopez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smith gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lopez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smith lets go of the hold and Lopez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kenny Smith!
