PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Iglias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin has chosen Motorhead-Killed by death as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enrique Iglias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Austin!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Iglias looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Austin does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Iglias tries to clinch up
and Austin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A telegraphed right hand from Austin misses the target.
Austin lands with an overhand left.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Austin misses with a wild combination.
Austin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Iglias.
Iglias really is a fat lump.
Iglias fails with a takedown attempt.
Iglias closes the distance and clinches up with Austin, looking for a takedown. Iglias pushes Austin against the cage but Austin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enrique Iglias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Iglias wants to clinch
and Austin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Steve Austin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Iglias tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Austin looks to land a combination but Iglias avoids it well.
Austin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Iglias manages to avoid it.
Iglias fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Austin avoids it really well and circles away.
Austin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Iglias fails with the takedown.
Austin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Austin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sloppy strikes from Austin. Those never looked like landing.
Austin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Iglias's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Austin misses with a wild combination.
Iglias dives in and grabs Austin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes down on Iglias's head and hops out.
No luck for Iglias with that takedown attempt.
Austin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Austin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Austin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Iglias moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A punch lands to the side of Iglias 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Oooooh!!! Austin has knocked Iglias down with a huge combo! Austin steps away and waves a wobbly Iglias back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Iglias is rocked!
Austin lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Iglias falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Steve Austin!
After the fight, Steve Austin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
