Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quint Bingham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bingham comes to the cage accompanied by Hatebreed - Live for this. Derek Riggs acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Quint Bingham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Derek Riggs!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Bingham.
Riggs defending well as Bingham loads up on a big left hand.
Riggs misses with a looping right.
Riggs swings for the body but Bingham moves out of range.
Riggs getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bingham uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bingham throws out a powerful jab.
Riggs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bingham misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Riggs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bingham sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bingham throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Riggs misses with a double jab.

Bingham slips under a jab from Riggs.

Bingham looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Riggs!
Riggs holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bingham tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Riggs keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Riggs wants to hold on but Bingham pushes him away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bingham cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Bingham is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Riggs has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Riggs is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bingham looking to control and managing it successfully.

Riggs wants to hold on but Bingham pushes him away.

Bingham is working for a guillotine from mount but Riggs frees his head quite easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bingham prevents Riggs from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riggs just holding on.
Bingham thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Bingham jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Riggs manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Bingham fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Riggs is looking for a sweep.
Bingham in side control, throwing shots but Riggs defends.

Bingham is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Riggs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Riggs is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Bingham working over Riggs with some ground and pound. Riggs looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bingham has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bingham is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riggs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bingham.

Bingham looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bingham is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Riggs is just riding it out for now. Bingham eventually gives up the hold.

Bingham is working for a submission of some sort.
Riggs tries to roll over but Bingham keeps him under control.
Bingham looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bingham throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quint Bingham dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bingham shoots in looking for a takedown but Riggs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bingham's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bingham lands a nice leg kick that just misses Riggs's sensitive parts.
Bingham slips a jab and a cross from Riggs.
Riggs throws out a loose jab but Bingham uses good head movement to avoid it.
Riggs digs a good body shot into Bingham's ribs.

Bingham shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bingham showed some decent athleticism there.
Riggs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bingham is working away from the top position though.
Bingham lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Riggs is trying to get back to full guard.
Riggs keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Bingham seems to be working for a kimura but Riggs defends the submission attempt.

Bingham seems to be looking for submissions.
Bingham perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Riggs is looking to improve his position.
Riggs slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Bingham thows a big elbow that misses.
Bingham throws and elbow that misses. Riggs uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bingham's guard. Nice move by Riggs!

Quint Bingham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Derek Riggs has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Riggs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Riggs throws a looping overhand right but Bingham ducks down to avoid it.
Derek Riggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown by Bingham or perhaps it was just good defense by Riggs which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quint Bingham. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bingham throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riggs.
Riggs misses with a few strikes there.
Bingham takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Derek Riggs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Riggs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Derek Riggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bingham shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Bingham closes this distance looking for a takedown but Riggs circles away.

Riggs swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Riggs misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Riggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bingham moves away.

Bingham wants to take a breather but Riggs manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Bingham.
Riggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riggs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quint Bingham.
I think Bingham has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
