Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between ZPryde Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes to the cage accompanied by Hood Mentality. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons jabs Gonzalez right on the nose. Gonzalez blinks but takes it well.

Gonzalez darts in and clinches Simmons up against the cage.

Simmons wants to control from the top but Gonzalez keeps moving.
Gonzalez wants to stand and escape but Simmons is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of ZPryde Simmons.
Simmons paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simmons swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Simmons stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simmons wants it to stay on the feet.

Simmons works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Simmons drops Gonzalez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Simmons follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
