The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sullivan moves out of range of the strikes. James doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. James gets cracked there but stands up to it.
James misses with an uppercut
and Sullivan counters with a nice body shot. James misses with an uppercut
and Sullivan counters with a one-two to the body. Sullivan slips under a jab. Sullivan throws a good cross that connects.
James looks to throw the jab but Sullivan is out of range. James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. James throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sullivan counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James throws a lazy uppercut
and Sullivan counters with a nice leg kick. Sullivan lands with a cross. James scores with a jab. Sullivan acknowledges it with a nod of the head. James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. James misses with a wild combination.
Sullivan lands a really nice looking cross but James seems unphased.
That's one minute gone in the round. James throws a right and a left that both miss. James misses with a right hand and Sullivan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
James is rocked! Sullivan cracks James with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends James tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sullivan pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! James is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
