7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyndon Jones! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Cohen Maloney! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left lands for Jones.
It looks like Cohen Maloney has been cut. Maloney feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Maloney changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maloney trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Maloney forces his way into half guard. Maloney is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Maloney is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maloney to get the leverage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maloney looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Maloney.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maloney throws a strike but Jones avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Maloney is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top! Maloney wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maloney is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Maloney has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Jones wants to stand but Maloney has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Maloney looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Maloney looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maloney is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jones is aware though and is defending well. Maloney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones prevents Maloney from getting back to his feet. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Maloney is looking to reverse the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maloney is trying to buck Jones off. Maloney gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
Cohen Maloney dominated that round. The cut man is working on Cohen Maloney's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Maloney looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well. Maloney tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Jones lunges at Maloney with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Maloney's hand. Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Maloney, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Maloney looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Maloney throws a body punch but Jones moves out of range. Jones looks to land a combination but Maloney avoids it well. Maloney shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Maloney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lyndon Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cohen Maloney. Maloney swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Maloney takes a shot right to the bread basket. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones cracks Maloney with a good jab. Maloney misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jones keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Maloney is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones connects with a body shot. A nice combination there by Jones.
Maloney takes a shot right to the bread basket. Maloney has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Maloney's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones lands with a cross. Lyndon Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch lands to the side of Maloney 's head but he takes it in his stride. Maloney takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That has opened up Cohen Maloney's cut even more. Maloney on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Jones fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jones lands a slapping body shot.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones digs a good hook to Maloney's body.
Jones throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jones scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Maloney takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The cut above Cohen Maloney's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Jones lands with a straight right. Maloney didn't see that one coming. Jones catches Maloney with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jones is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cohen Maloney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones throws a series of punches but Maloney moves out of range. Jones throws out a powerful jab.
Cohen Maloney's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Maloney avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing. Maloney shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Maloney keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jones looks to land a combination. Maloney sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cohen Maloney's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Lyndon Jones! Lyndon Jones retains his super heavyweight title! An out of breath Lyndon Jones thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
