Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPunches throws a series of punches but Volkov moves out of range.
Volkov slips a straight right by McPunches.
McPunches misses with a right hand
and Volkov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
McPunches lands a nice looking body shot.

McPunches lands a really nice looking cross but Volkov seems unphased.

McPunches throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Volkov.
Volkov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McPunches on his heels. He'll look to pass McPunches's guard now, I'm sure.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McPunches wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Volkov.
McPunches is bucking up trying to escape but Volkov cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Volkov is pressing down on McPunches's thigh, looking to free his foot. McPunches is holding on for now.

Volkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McPunches swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Volkov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Volkov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McPunches for as long as he can get away with.

Volkov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McPunches's waist but McPunches gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Volkov off to one side.
McPunches's corner calls for a 1-2. McPunches obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Volkov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McPunches did well to prevent Volkov getting side control.

Volkov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
McPunches is in trouble now - Volkov has advanced to mount!
