Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Atchen Bryde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Koponen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Atchen Bryde! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Abel Koponen! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryde swats away the attempt to clinch by Koponen. Bryde punishes Koponen's body with a nice straight punch. Atchen Bryde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bryde drives through and clinches with Koponen against the cage.
Bryde misses with a body punch.
Nice body punch from Bryde - that landed with a thud.
Bryde misses with a short punch on the inside. Bryde breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bryde closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bryde lands a hook to the side of the head. Bryde manages to pull guard.
Bryde pulls Koponen in to control the position. Bryde is looking to stand up but Koponen isn't so interested in that idea. Bryde keeping full guard, as Koponen tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryde looking for a guillotine here but Koponen defends easily.
Koponen trying to control the position from guard on top but Bryde is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bryde controlling Koponen's posture. Koponen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bryde's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koponen tries to free his leg and advance position but Bryde is retaining full guard. Koponen passes easily into side control. Nice work. Koponen throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bryde works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Bryde knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Koponen on the ground. Koponen is trying to work for a kimura but Bryde is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Koponen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Koponen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Koponen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Koponen not landing any meaningful shots this time. Koponen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Koponen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bryde is just riding it out for now. Koponen eventually gives up the hold. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Abel Koponen will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bryde stuffs the takedown. Bryde misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Bryde, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bryde instigates a clinch. Koponen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bryde is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Koponen to the mat. Koponen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Bryde lands a couple of digs. Koponen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bryde gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Abel Koponen has got the better of the ground game so far. Koponen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bryde! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryde is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Koponen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bryde is on top in guard.
Bryde loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Koponen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bryde manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Koponen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Koponen preventing the sweep. Koponen with a flurry of punches that miss. Koponen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Koponen throws a big right hand that misses. Bryde manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Koponen tries to reverse the position but Bryde maintains control. Koponen manages to regain half guard. Good work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Koponen looking for subs from the bottom but Bryde mounts him!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Bryde. Koponen tries to hold on but Bryde postures up. Bryde cracks Koponen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bryde can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Koponen is looking to escape. Koponen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Koponen wants to control but Bryde is having none of it. Koponen can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Koponen bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Bryde is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. That was a close second round but I would say that Atchen Bryde will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

and Bryde counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bryde gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Koponen tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Bryde is looking to control Koponen's arms but Koponen gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bryde has his back to the cage. Bryde is pushing Koponen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. A nice left hand lands by Bryde.

Koponen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Good shot there by Bryde. Bryde misses with a body shot.

It looks like Abel Koponen has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bryde swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bryde goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Atchen Bryde is winning the standup battle so far. Koponen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bryde tries to avoid it but Koponen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bryde to the ground. Bryde escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Atchen Bryde has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abel Koponen. Bryde drives through and clinches with Koponen against the cage.
Bryde pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A punch combination from Koponen misses. Bryde misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koponen.
Bryde fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Koponen, pushing him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryde lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Koponen or not. Koponen prevents a body shot from Bryde. Bryde holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Atchen Bryde is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bryde throws a sloppy head kick and Koponen moves out of range easily. Koponen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bryde circles away. Bryde fakes the leg kick and cracks Koponen in the body. Koponen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Koponen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bryde is fending him off so far but Koponen persists. Nope, Bryde circles away and we're back to standing. Koponen tries to keep at a distance but Bryde has taken the fight into the clinch. Bryde works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bryde trying to stand up but can't free himself from Koponen's guard. Bryde tries to free his leg and advance position but Koponen is retaining full guard. Bryde has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Koponen is proving hard to escape from. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bryde has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Koponen to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bryde is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Koponen pulls down on the head and he's put Bryde to sleep! This one is all over!
