Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seppo Raty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorn Nordberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorn Nordberg!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raty gets tackled into the cage by Nordberg. Nordberg maintains the clinch.
Nordberg is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Nordberg is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Raty gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Nordberg is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Raty pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Raty is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nordberg is defending well for now.
Nordberg tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Nordberg is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Seppo Raty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorn Nordberg.

Nordberg is looking for a sweep. Raty is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Nordberg is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nordberg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Raty can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Raty is in close to Nordberg's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Nordberg tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Nordberg is looking to control Raty's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nordberg avoid being mounted?
Raty working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Raty seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nordberg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Raty looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Seppo Raty wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Nordberg tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Raty slaps away a takedown attempt from Nordberg, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Raty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nordberg as he jumps to the side.
Nordberg leaves Raty with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nordberg scores with a one two! Raty had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Nordberg moves in looking to clinch but Raty pushes him off.
Raty with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nordberg to score with a decent uppercut.

Raty has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nordberg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nordberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raty swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nordberg gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Seppo Raty will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Nordberg tries to clinch but Raty is having none of it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Raty is looking to take a break and control but Nordberg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Raty postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nordberg looks a forlorn figure.

Raty lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nordberg hang on?
The referee warns Nordberg that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nordberg is desperately trying to improve his position but Raty has a good base and remains in mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Seppo Raty showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Raty, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
