Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Archie Bunker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesley Mathews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathews swats away the attempt to clinch by Bunker.
Mathews stuffs the takedown attempt from Bunker. Bunker gets slowly back to his feet.
Bunker is looking to clinch but Mathews is avoiding it.
Mathews throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bunker's waist but Bunker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mathews off to one side.

Bunker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mathews manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bunker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mathews moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bunker moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Mathews shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mathews showed some decent athleticism there.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mathews in particular looking to stall.

Let's hope that Mathews has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bunker wants to improve his position but Mathews is controlling well.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Wesley Mathews wasn't active enough on the ground.

Mathews tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bunker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bunker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mathews throws and elbow that misses. Bunker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mathews's guard. Nice move by Bunker!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mathews shoots in looking for a takedown. Bunker tries to sprawl out of it but Mathews keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bunker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
