Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pertti Junttila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Riva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Riva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pertti Junttila! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Riva! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Junttila to the mat! Junttila manages to get full guard. Junttila has control of Riva's left arm, preventing Riva from doing any damage. Junttila is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Junttila stands up and beckons Riva to join him on the feet. Junttila tries to clinch up. Riva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Junttila to the mat! Junttila manages to get full guard. Riva looks gassed! Junttila manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Junttila tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Riva wants to hold on but Junttila pushes him away. Junttila controlling his opponent. Junttila trying to control but Riva is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Junttila controlling his opponent. Junttila forces the positional change into back control. Junttila misses with a punch to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Even with his hooks in, Junttila manages to miss with strikes from the back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Junttila avoiding Riva 's attempts to control his hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Junttila trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Riva doesn't escape. Junttila misses with punches from the back. Riva is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Junttila off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. The referee is taking a good look at Riva as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Junttila!
Junttila is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Junttila keeps control of the position as Riva tries to break free.
Junttila scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Riva can't escape the position.
Riva is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Junttila tries to get the hooks in deep but Riva pushed the leg off.

Riva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Junttila. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Riva tries to break free.
Riva is trying to get back to his feet but Junttila has full control of the position and if anything, Riva has just worked his way into a worse spot. Junttila lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Junttila looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
What can Riva do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Junttila has the hooks in. Riva is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Junttila somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Junttila is working the ground and pound. Can Riva escape? Riva tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Junttila has Riva flattened out and is raining down punches. Even with his hooks in, Junttila manages to miss with strikes from the back. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Riva is trying to break free.
Riva turns into Junttila and is now in his guard.
Junttila pushes Riva off and gets back to his feet.
Junttila gets a clinch. Riva throws a knee to the head but misses.
Riva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Junttila is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Junttila manages to pull guard.
Riva throwing strikes but missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pertti Junttila dominated that round. That's time! Junttila's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Junttila rushes Riva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Junttila is trying to break the clinch but Riva has him pressed against the cage. Riva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Junttila scores with a takedown into Riva's guard. Riva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Junttila doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Riva is tightening it up a little... Junttila has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Junttila reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Junttila taps out! nice BJJ there by Riva!
