Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Beam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcos Aurelio! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aurelio avoids a punch combination nicely.
Beam throws a jab when Aurelio was well out of range. Beam lands a right hook to the body.
Aurelio takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Aurelio looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Aurelio displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Beam throws out the jab. Beam scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Marcos Aurelio has been cut. Beam misses with a double jab.
Aurelio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beam paws at him with a jab and circles away. Aurelio misses the jab. Beam takes a swing at Aurelio's ribcage but misses. Aurelio moves into range and clinches up with Beam.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beam goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Aurelio unloads a knee to the mid-section. Beam lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Beam looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Aurelio is struggling to control the position. Aurelio blocks a body shot from Beam. Beam is trying to force a seperation but Aurelio has the dominant position. Aurelio lands with a short shot to the head. Aurelio lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Aurelio lands a good knee to the midsection. Beam won't want to take too many of those. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aurelio blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Aurelio softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Aurelio breaks from the clinch.
Aurelio jabs at Beam's body. Aurelio lands a front kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aurelio lands with an overhand left. A head kick from Aurelio lands but Beam takes it in his stride. Aurelio connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Beam tries to keep at a distance but Aurelio has taken the fight into the clinch. Aurelio misses with a knee strike.
Aurelio softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Aurelio stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Aurelio manages to break the clinch.
Aurelio clinches. Aurelio lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Beam. A nice left hand lands by Aurelio.
Aurelio lands a big knee! That's hurt Beam! Oh, he's all over the place! Aurelio lands another knee that sends Beam to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
