The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mustafa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Benard.
Mustafa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Benard fails with the takedown.
Sheik Mustafa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Benard.

Mustafa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Benard is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mustafa pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mustafa throws a head punch that misses.
Benard has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mustafa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Benard is trying to drag Mustafa to the mat but Mustafa just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Horrible takedown by Benard or perhaps it was just good defense by Mustafa which made him look bad.

Mustafa tries to circle away but Benard has him pinned against the cage.
Mustafa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mustafa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mustafa tries to clinch but Benard is having none of it.

Benard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mustafa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Benard somewhat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mustafa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mustafa tries to clinch up but Benard circles away and keeps his distance.
Mustafa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Benard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Oooooh!!! Mustafa has knocked Benard down with a huge combo! Mustafa steps away and waves a wobbly Benard back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Benard is still on wobbly legs! Can Mustafa finish him?

Benard's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Mustafa breaks the clinch.
