Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard throws a head kick that misses.
Poddubny fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Howard to the ground. Poddubny is now in Howard's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Howard wants to stand and escape but Poddubny is having none of it.
Poddubny drops back looking for a leg! Howard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Howard manages to kick Poddubny off! Poddubny jumps back into Howard's guard.
Howard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Poddubny. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Poddubny drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Poddubny jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Howard wants to get back to his feet but Poddubny is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Poddubny thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Poddubny won't allow Howard to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Howard can do anything to dispel that myth.
Poddubny drops back looking for a leg! Howard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Howard manages to kick Poddubny off! Poddubny jumps back into Howard's guard.
Poddubny is pushing down on Howard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Howard is fighting to maintain full guard but Poddubny has managed to sneak the leg through.
Poddubny is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Howard is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
